How to feel like you are going somewhere

Does your life seem like a never ending hamster wheel? Does everyday seem like the same day? Do the weeks and months seem to fly past and you wonder where the time went because nothing is different?

This is a common feeling in this busy, fast paced world.

All of society is designed and built around people being in the 9 to 5 hamster wheel of work. Sleep, work, eat, sleep and repeat. We are given the glorious weekend, which is barely enough time to catch up on sleep let alone actually feel like a holiday before we do it all over again.

But what do we do about it? How do we actually go anywhere?

Think of your life like a walk across a desert (forget the heat and the need for water, this is an example)

if you just stumble along you will end up just doing a big circle and end up back where you started, but your footprints will have been blown away, so you just go on and on in circles.

You have one leg shorter than the other, it just happens.

But if you stop for a min, get your bearings, pick a destination.

Once you have that destination, you can actually reach it.

Once you reach it, you can set another one and then reach it.

Then you can look back and see what you have accomplished, and voile you have made progress, you have achieved something. Your life is different.

Actually achieving this in your life is a challenge and takes effort and determination.

Often it is so much easier to stay in the rut that we find ourselves in, but what most don't realize is that this is very unhealthy for our minds and bodies, and I believe it’s the biggest cause of disease and illness in this world.

We are meant to grow and learn, expand our horizons, do new things, and make a mark on this world.

Not be someone that worked for other people for 50 years and not achieved anything significant and then died. Too many people have had lives like this and it needs to stop.


Step one:

Think of something that makes you smile.... This is your life; it might as well be fun.


Step two:

Define what it is...


Step three:

Brainstorm a list of lots of ways to do this more.

Pick one and go do it

Once it’s done, cross it off and do the next


Once you can see you have done something, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and progress, which makes it easier to keep doing it.


And enjoy the ride.
